Disordered Eating Specialized Services for Youth
We support youth, boys and girls, age 13 to 19, who struggle with all types of disordered eating - from anorexia nervosa to severe obesity.
We believe that within a supportive, non judgmental environment we will develop a trusting and caring relationship with youth and their families.
We provide client-centered counselling for the individual and the family in collaboration with local community resources as well as regional and provincial services.
Using a model of prevention, early intervention, and treatment, this program focuses on both the psychological and nutritional aspects of disordered eating, while promoting the physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being of our clients and their families.
We value advocacy, mutual respect, and open communication.
We encourage participation of parents in the healing process and offer family meetings, parent groups and individual meetings.
We accept referrals from anyone: young people, parents, school-nurses or counselors, physicians, and other professionals.
We are available to consult and collaborate with schools, agencies, community groups, and other professionals in the medical or mental health field.
